Gun Violence Awareness MonthJune is #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth. Over 1100 shootings have occurred this year and our 2019 summer season has just begun with much work to be done to cease gun violence in our communities. Faith, prayer and spirituality is a pathway to peace and freedom from gun violence in our Chicago communities.
On the last day of June, Common Connections Foundation joined with South Shore UMC to pray for peace and to celebrate their Juneteenth Revivify Freedom in Christ wrap up Celebration. 50 orange gun violence awareness balloons were prayed over and released for peace and healing across our 50 Chicago community wards. #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth #Juneteenth #FaithandCommunity #MakingtheConnection
